My daughter Eliza was one of the researchers who visited the property in 1989. She never came home. The police said there was no evidence of foul play. There was no evidence of anything.
If anyone has information about what happened to my daughter, James Reed, or Thomas Ashworth, please contact me. Ten years without answers is too long.
Whatever is in that house took my child.

I worked on the 1996 renovation attempt. Lasted three days. Every morning we'd find our tools moved to different locations than where we left them. The foreman said it was kids but there were no other footprints in the dust.
On my last day I was measuring the eastern corridor when I heard what sounded like a child singing. The crew was all outside on break. I didn't go back.
To E. Winston - I'm sorry for your loss. I knew James Reed. He was convinced the manor held evidence of something extraordinary. His last letter to me mentioned finding "impossible footprints" and "movement in the walls." He sounded excited, not afraid. I don't know if that makes it better or worse.
I live within sight of the manor. Some nights there are lights in the east wing windows. The property is supposed to be empty. I've called the police twice but they don't find anyone.
The lights don't behave like flashlights or candles. They move in patterns. Sometimes they seem to spell shapes.
Found this site while researching Victorian architecture for a class project. The story about the dimensional impossibilities in the east wing caught my attention. Has anyone actually verified those measurements independently? It seems like the sort of thing that would attract serious scientific attention if true.
To HistoryTeacher: Multiple surveys have confirmed it. The discrepancy is real. No one can explain it. Most surveyors refuse to return for follow-up measurements.

My grandmother was a Blackthorn cousin. She told me things before she died that I didn't believe. Now I've read this archive and I believe her.
She said the family made an agreement. She said the door must stay closed. She said the watchers remember everything.
I don't know what any of that means but she was terrified when she said it.
Is there any connection between Blackthorn Manor and the Department 8 references I've seen in other paranormal research? Some older documents mention government involvement with "threshold sites" - is this one of them?
